Firstly, the idea of cricket life is excellent. For a developer to decide to take on such an revolutionary game is commendable and it seems as though they have taken great time and care with it; although it means we have had to wait longer, it hopefully means that it will be a tremendous game. Hopefully. All too often cricket games have been rushed and even though they are playable suffer from many problems (Cricket 07 in particular, great potential but a disapointing finished article.) Should they manage to create a game that builds on the potential of the idea then they will find a lot of people will buy it, and the time and effort spent will certainly be worthwhile. But they need to make it work otherwise it will just be another failed cricket game. The mix of management and playability needs to be seamlessly done without long loading times or error. Also there has got to be a sense that you are really building a career, that as you improve on the game your player also improves their ability and other elements such as taking the new ball or being shifted up the order or given the responsibility of vice-captain before the captaincy. In addition, should your player lose form or constantly get out producing the same poor shots, then they should be penalised, dropped and sent back to the second 11 or back to their counties should they be international; or in the case of poor technique should be sent to the nets and made to work on those poorer elements of their game. In addition, i'd also like to see the opportunity/choice to play the English county season before perhaps going down under and performing for an Aussie state side in the winter.
In terms of the actual gameplay, should they manage to create something similar to cricket 07, without the problems of poor AI batting and many, many more then i would think people will be pleased. Perhaps within gameplay should your player be at the non strikers end then you could have the option to talk to your team mate should they be attempting to slog when its not warranted or conversely, tell them to slog when they're playing too defense. Just little, unique elements such as that should make this game very good. Let me know what everybody thinks.
Maybe my first post was a bit long.
