Current Answered Questions
Will there be a Demo?
- We won't be releasing a playable demo.
Why isn't there any box version ? You know the condition of people in Indian sub-continent many of them don't even have internet. Or CR is targeted only for big markets like UK, Aus ?
- We understand that the online distribution method might be an inconvenience for some people in the sub-continent (Pakistan, India and Bangladesh). We're working on this issue and will release some updates in the following weeks.
Can we create players & tournaments?
-While you can't create a player in single player mode whose stats are tracked throughout, CR focuses on YOU being the player. This is achieved through our online portal where all your stats and ratings are maintained.
As for tournaments, you have the option to choose from two types in single-player mode. On Revolution Online, however, you can participate in tournaments which will be held on a regular basis as the community matures.
Will we be able to patch anything in the game which is legal? I mean like Bats, Faces etc.?
-Our aim is to support the community as much as possible. Therefore, we plan on releasing certain tools that you can use to mod/patch such things in the game. I can't say for sure when these will be made available though.
We lacked a decent cricket game so far what's one of the highlight of CR which differentiate it from others?
-CR is going to be a totally different game altogether. You can consider it to be a third genre in cricket games, besides EA and Codemasters. The reason being, in short, that the design goal of most former cricket games has been to create the perfect cricket simulator, whereas CR's core focus is on driving multi-player competition by adding as much gameplay depth as possible while staying within the cricketing framework.
Therefore the kind of discussions we expect from the community moving forward would be for example: What's the ideal mixture of catching and running specialists on the fielding side and where it's best to place each of them compared to, let's say, whether Muralitharan's bowling action is realistic or not. While the latter is a valid point, CR won't be focusing on such things.
Will there be any difference in the playing style of Tail-enders and top order batsman?( Like playing wrong shots, unable to hit the ball properly etc.)
-Ofcourse there is going to be. Tail-enders have low batting talent points compared to top-order batsmen, which means they are more likely to produce edges and will often time the ball incorrectly etc.
That's how the AI is going to be. Things could be very different in multi-player mode though, where a lot more strategies come into play. For example, someone might prefer sending in low talented batsmen as openers in order to get used to their opponent's bowling style. Similarly, someone else might invest a lot of talent points in their batsmen so that all of them are specialists.
Will there be any change in the bowler's bowling length/line or confidence after being hit for 2-3 consecutive boundaries by the batsman?
-You will notice a change in the AI's bowling style along with their field setting if they are hit for consecutive boundaries. As for 'adrenaline' (alternative term for confidence in CR), whether playing against the AI or a human opponent, it's going to drop.
