| Administrator | Well I have heard that sometimes people alter the resolution and graphic settings and then when they start the game again, the game doesn't starts. The setting can only be changed internally but there is another way to alter the Display and Graphic settings externally. Please remember this is an advanced method and only for advanced users. First of All, Open your "My Documents" folder. Then open a folder named "My Games". This folder will have the game folder too which is named by "Ashes Cricket 2009" or "Ashes Cricket 2009 Demo"( In case of the Demo version). Now open the folder and then you will find a file named "display.opt". This is the file which is loaded by the EXE file of the game through a command "optdisplay_settings". Open the file "display.opt" using WordPad. Now you will see some data in it. Here is the details of the data inside that file: ScreenWidth : Width of the Screen Resolution ScreenHeight = Height of the Screen Resolution (To change the resolution, you have to change both the values simultaneously. Ex, If your resolution is 800x600 then your SWidth will be 800 and SHeight will be 600). FullScreen (This setting will allow you to choose whether you want to run the game in FullScreen mode or Windowed Mode. If the value is 0 then it will run the game in Windowed Mode and if the value is 1 then it will run in FullScreen mode. You can change the value according to your need.) GraphicsDetailLevel (This is the setting to adjust the Detail Level of the graphics. If the value is 0 then it will be the lowest and if the value is 1 it will be medium. If the value is 2 then it will be in High Detail mode.) ShadowDetailLevel (This setting will allow you to adjust the Level of Detail of the Shadows in the game. You can change it like the level of graphics. Remember, if the level will be high, game will run slow.) CrowdEnable (This setting will allow you to Enable/Disable crowds. If the value is 0 then Crowds will be Disabled and if the Value is 1 then Crowds will be enabled. Also note that you have to increase the "GraphicsDetailLevel" 's value to at least 1 to enable the crowds otherwise it won't work. PostProcessEnable (This setting is the Special Effect setting I suppose. This will enable special graphical and sound effects in the game. Might require a good Graphic card. If the value is 0 then this is disabled else if the value is 1 then it will be enabled.) If you haven't run the game yet, the file "display.opt" might not be present. You can download the file and paste in the folder if the game is not running on your PC just because of the resolution. You can change the resolution and then it might run as the game allows you to change the settings Internally. I hope my tutorial has helped you out. Copyright (c) 2009 CricketGaming.net |

![]() | Man you are wrong in case of graphical details level and shadow detail levels. it is as follows:- I followed your instruction changed both to 2 and found out that inside the game my high settings became low. SO the conclusion is:- GraphicsDetailLevel (This is the setting to adjust the Detail Level of the graphics. If the value is 0 then it will be the highest and if the value is 1 it will be medium. If the value is 2 then it will be in low detail mode.) ShadowDetailLevel (This setting will allow you to adjust the Level of Detail of the Shadows in the game. You can change it like the level of graphics. Remember, if the level will be high, game will run slow.) If you change both of the above to 2 then remember to turn the Crowd Enable and Post Process Enable option to 0 else the game wont start. |
