![]() | Hi, I have decided to buy a graphics card for my PC and I have narrowed my choice to the two aforesaid cards 9600gt 512MB and 9600GT 1gb. My motherboard is DG31PR and it has DDR2 RAM installed. The shopkeeper told me that 9600 GT both versions are DDR3 memory. My doubt is whether my board will support these DDR3 graphics cards or do I need to get a DDR2 graphics card only. Please reply at the earliest for me to make my decision. Regards, Vijay.S |

| Administrator | I am not sure at the moment but I don't think so it will support. You should also check power supply capacity before buying a GFX card ![]() |

![]() | Hi Stumped, I have purchased the 9600GT 1GB card and it cost me 5600 INR. I was previously using a 8400GS model and I had no power related issues and everything was working fine. I also understood that DDR3,4 or 5 does not matter and my board DG31PR can handle all types of PCI cards. Can you please let me know whether the power supply which was working fine in my previous 8400GS will alswo work fine with this new card 9600GT 1gb. Kindly reply. Vijay... |

| Administrator | It may not work as 8400 just required 300W and 9600 requires around 600W. What's your power supply? |
