Codemasters have finally released the official PC requirements for Ashes Cricket 2009. A speculation was discussed before by the Lead Developer of Ashes Cricket 2009, Robert Walkley in an Exclusive interview with CricketGaming. The system requirements are likely same.

It was said by the Codemasters that the compatibility will be improved in Ashes Cricket 2009 from BLIC07 however it seems to be demanding a bit more than BLIC07.
The game doesn't supports all integrated sound/graphics solutions including laptops. The game only supports few graphic cards.
