Don Bradman Cricket 17: Is It An Improvement?

don bradman cricket 17 release date

Though the sport of cricket is not that globally popular as opposed to football, basketball, or tennis; it is still an understatement to say that it doesn’t have that much of an influence to the sporting community. Because in reality, it does!

One thing that proves this is the video game, Don Bradman Cricket 14 – a cricket simulation game released on Feb. 11, 2015. However, it just got a total “repackage” as the sequel to the game, the Don Bradman Cricket 17, has been released last Dec. 16, 2016.

So is the latest game an improvement over the original one? We’ll find out about that here.

Difficulty and Controls

One of the biggest changes in this game is its level of difficulty. If it was a piece of cake for you to play on Rookie mode in Cricket 14, the latest game proves it otherwise.

Even putting the difficulty on Rookie will make you scratch your head as it gives you a dose of challenge. But worry not, because this means that you’re becoming a more competitive player in the process. But that’s JUST it.

There are no fancy or big-time changes on the gameplay, except for the expanded solo mode. Frankly speaking, it’s that mode that gives you a real “new feeling” to the game.

In terms of Bowling…

When it comes to bowling, it still is a bit tricky to deliver a run-up while determining the flight, line, and spin motion of your movements. It still is what makes the game a slight turnoff because you can never really accurately tell how your analog stick controls translate to the game itself.

By simply doing a slight error, you can miss a whole full toss when doing a mid-wicket. If that doesn’t happen, then your keeper is most likely going to dive leg-side-style. It sure is not a sight you want to see.

What’s up with the batting?

If the bowling part of the game comes to be quite of a dismay, Cricket 17 makes up for it, as it made edging the ball much easier. It’s because of this that the game becomes a more realistic one.

Doing a slip cordon bowling also feels more legit as you have more control over it than in the original game. You simply have to control the analog stick if you want to tweak the foot movement.

Now, you’ll have a better grasp in responding to the ball length and line. Moving across the stumps has also never been easier before.

Career Mode

Another cool thing about Don Bradman Cricket 17 is that its career mode has experienced a considerable amount of enhancement. Now, you get to start your career in a local pub.

You then work your way up the ladder of fortune, climaxing in the eventual international recognition you’ll get later on. While all of those are happening, you’ll get to see the best pro players get injured, and retire, as you overtake their accomplishments.

And it’s not just that, because now, you have the freedom to control an entire team!

Player Creator

Creating your own player has never been more immersive because it now includes a whole lot of new tipsy-daisy. Among it is the all-new stadium creator and logo editor.

You also don’t have to worry about the licensed player names. Now, you can get them online thanks to the community-generated contents.

Cricket Sport Betting Odds

If you’re a true cricket fan, you’re surely not just going to play your ass off in front of a screen. Most likely, you’re also going to watch the game of the top cricket teams and bet your money on them.

Well if that’s the case, then you can bet on the upcoming game of Somerset and Surrey, with the former having 11/10 betting odds while the latter has 8/11. The next big game would be between the Trinbago Knight Riders having 8/11 and the St. Lucia Stars with 5/4.

On Aug. 10, the Knight Riders would play against the Jamaica Tallawahs with the Jamaican team having 11/10 betting odds. But before you make any of those choices, it’s wise to first check the best online free bets so you’ll have a better grasp of the potential winner in the upcoming matches. Till then, the best of luck to you.
